STANDARD WASHING/DRYING (NOT FOR PREP CYCLE)

Washing:

WATER TEMPERATURES: hot, warm, cold, hand wash*

  • (hand wash is not recommended for thermal pee padding liners or accessories due to the delicate nature of the thermal filaments in the pee padding)

SOAPS: ANY “LAUNDRY SOAP” YOU LIKE IS SAFE FOR THE LINERS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF RESOLVE, BLEACH, CLOROX ETC

PODS/LIQUID/POWDER (OKAY)*

Scented or unscented is up to you

LIQUID SOFTENER (NO!! NO!! NO!!)*NEVER USE FABRIC SOFTERNER LIQUIDS LIKE DOWNY!!! FABRIC SOFTENERS CREATES A WATERPROOF BARRIER TO FABRICS LIKE FLEECE, PREVENTING WICKING CAPABILITIES**

** if you do accidentally use downy, its not the end of the world!! Simply put your liners through 1-2 FULL PREP CYCLES to restore wicking capabilities!

VINEGAR/BAKING SODA (OKAY)*

If you feel your liners are retaining a slight smell even after washing, use 1 cup vinegar (cheap white non name brand is fine) + 1 cup baking soda to a “medium load wash” add extra cup of each for large load size,

Dry: sanitize, hot, warm, cool, hang dry/lay dry*

*line dry is NOT recommended for thermal pee padding liners due to the delicate nature of the thermal filaments in the pee padding

DRYER SHEET/DRYER BALLS (OKAY)* Dryer sheets does NOT affect the wicking, I know people say it does, it does not, scented or unscented is up to you!

Questions and Answers Regarding Fleece Liners:

Q: I am seeing white spots on my liners after washing and drying, how do I remove this?

A: These spots are usually left as a result of calcium deposits from urine, its completely normal and is easily removed!

To remove calcium deposits: add a good amount to the affected area on your liner, pre soak the spot, (make sure to cover the area and a little bit outside of this area) with vinegar! Pure vinegar, do not dilute! Wait 10 mins, toss in washer, dryer, it will be good as new!

Q: How long does my liners last?

A: With the proper care, your liners will last past the lifetime of your pet! Never use anything corrosive or harsh with your liners, things like bleach will gradually break down fleece, and waterproofing material making it crumble and full of holes. VINEGAR IS YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND! NOT ONLY IS IT A SAFE/NON TOXIC TO USE AROUND CHILDREN/PETS, IT IS A NATURAL DISINFECTANT, AND IT CAN DEODORIZE LINERS SAFELY

Q: I RAN OUT OF SOAP!! CAN I WASH IT WITH ANYTHING ELSE?

A: YES, YOU CAN!! You can wash your liners with just vinegar and baking soda in a crunch, it will get them clean just the same! To skip store bought soap, use 4 cups baking soda, to 4 cups white vinegar, add your liners!

CAGE ACCESSORIES CARE

FOR: cuddle cups, bottle pads, hammocks, cube/cylinder houses, tunnels, popcorn pillows etc

WASH: same as above for liners

DRY: Same as above for liners……. But for items that are PUFFY, these contains poly batting, and it is NOT recommended to subject them to SANITIZE dry cycle temps, as some machines can get hot enough to nearly melt them…. For puffy, HOT or anything lower, is fine, just don’t use sanitize dry cycle! If in doubt, ask me!

SOME ESSENTIALS YOU MIGHT FIND USEFUL TO HAVE TO HELP YOU CARE FOR YOUR ITEMS:

~ VINEGAR

~ BAKING SODA

~ DOLLAR STORE DUST PAN/BRUSH (HELPS GET FUR AND HAY OFF THE LINER BEFORE WASHING)

~ DRYER BAG (ESSENTIAL FOR REUSABLE HAMSTER BEDDING)

FOR: foam items (buckets, boats, huts, cubes, airplanes, foam tunnels, and UFO space pods)

Wash: for best product lifespan, please wash all foam items IN THEIR OWN CYCLE (delicate wash setting, cold/warm water+soap etc)

Dry: PLEASE DRY ALL FOAM IN ITS OWN CYCLE, ONLY on cool/low/medium heat (NEVER HIGH HEAT!) (dryer sheets/balls okay)

  • YOU CAN WASH AND DRY MULTIPLE FOAM ITEMS IN A CYCLE, JUST DON’T COMBINE WITH LINERS. LINERS WEIGHT CAN CAUSE INTERNAL TEARING/RIPPING OF THE FOAM FROM THE TOP STITCHES. (You may wash and dry small potty pads with foam items, no larger than 15”x15” pads!)

**** A FRONT LOADING WASHER IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL FOAM ITEMS THAT ARE 12” SIZED… IF YOU MUST USE A TOP LOADING WASHER PLEASE BE SURE TO USE A MESH LAUNDRY BAG AND DO NOT WASH ANY LINERS WITH THE FOAMS!!! THIS PREVENTS RIPS AND STRESS TO SEAMS FROM WEIGHT OF WET LINERS, POTTY PADS 12”X12” OR SMALLER, CUDDLE CUPS, HAY BAGS, TUNNELS AND OTHER MINOR ACCESSORIES OKAY TO WASH WITH IT!

PLEASE CHECK ALL ITEMS FOR WEAR AND TEAR AFTER EACH WASH, REPLACE ITEMS IF PETS HAVE DAMAGED IT ENOUGH TO POSE A SAFETY RISK (HOLES LARGER THAN 3” IS A RISK FACTOR FOR SOME PETS, AS THEIR HEADS CAN GET IN AND CAN NOT NECESSARILY GET BACK OUT) ETC
